5th Valid Race of the 23rd Grand Prix Sicilia of Half Marathons

RULES

The A.S.D. Polisportiva Marsala Doc, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Marsala and under the aegis of FIDAL, organizes the "10th Marsala Half Marathon Città Garibaldina" – a road race of 21.097 km.

The event is valid as the 5th race of the 23rd Grand Prix Sicilia of Half Marathons.

The race is included in the FIDAL National Calendar at the Bronze level and will take place in Marsala on Sunday, April 27.

The pick-up of bib numbers and race packs will take place on Saturday, April 26 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, April 27 in the morning from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Monument to the Thousand, in the starting/finish area.

Start time is 08:45 AM from Lungomare Mediterraneo, in front of the Monument to the Thousand.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
ATHLETES REGISTERED IN ITALY
According to the "Rules for organizing non-stadia events" issued by FIDAL, Italian and foreign athletes registered in Italy may participate in the GP, limited to those aged 18 years and older, possessing one of the following requirements:
• Athletes registered for 2025 with clubs affiliated with FIDAL
• Italian and foreign athletes with a Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete) and athletes registered with a Sports Promotion Body (Athletics Section), possessing a Runcard - EPS, limited to individuals aged 20 and over in possession of a Medical Certificate of fitness for competitive athletics, valid at the date of the event. Participation is subject to the submission of a valid medical certificate, which must be attached and sent at the time of registration along with the Runcard and a copy of the bank transfer to the company handling registrations (EvoData), which must be presented and handed to the event organizers, who will retain it for official records.

ATHLETES NOT REGISTERED IN ITALY
Foreign and Italian athletes not registered in Italy may participate, limited to individuals aged 18 and older (based on their year of birth), possessing one of the following requirements:
• Athletes with a club membership card from foreign Athletics Federations recognized by WA. At the time of registration, they must alternatively present:
Self-certification of possession of the card recognized by WA. This self-certification must be signed in original at the time of bib pick-up.
• Athletes with a Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete), limited to individuals aged 20 and over; participation is also subject to the submission of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive athletics, valid, to be presented to the organizers in original and retained in copy by the organizing company of each event. For foreign non-resident athletes, the medical certificate can be issued in their home country but must include the same exams required by Italian regulations: a) medical visit; b) complete urine analysis; c) resting and stress electrocardiogram; d) spirometry.

Notes on Participation
In compliance with health and safety regulations, non-registered participants and anyone without a bib will not be allowed to run along the race route. All such individuals will be ordered to leave the course.
It will not be allowed for athletes' coaches or other escorts to pass with bicycles or other vehicles along the course, under penalty of disqualification for the involved athletes and reporting of unauthorized individuals to the judicial authorities.

The event will be controlled by the Race Judges Group of Trapani. Each athlete will be given an electronic chip, which they must wear during the race and return at the finish line. Failure to return the chip will result in a €20 charge, which will be requested later from the athlete’s team if participating in the Grand Prix or from the individual athlete in the case of Runcard participants.
All participants will receive a diploma online, which can be downloaded for free from the website www.endu.net

Participation Fee and Registrations

Until 24:00 on MONDAY, APRIL 14, the participation fee is set at €20
AND A GIFT IS GUARANTEED

FROM APRIL 15 TO APRIL 21, the participation fee will be €25
and a gift is always GUARANTEED.
Registration closes until 24:00 on MONDAY, APRIL 21.
For every 10 half marathon bibs = 1 free marathon bib.
For every 20 half marathon bibs = 2 free marathon bibs, etc.

IN ALL THE CASES ABOVE, THE PAYMENT DATE WILL BE CONSIDERED VALID, NOT THE DATE OF THE REGISTRATION REQUEST SUBMISSION.

Registrations
For athletes participating in the marathon, the time achieved in the first 21.0975 km will be used for all final classifications of the Grand Prix of Half Marathons (individual, team, bonus, etc.).

ATTENTION: For athletes who meet the requirements for entering the reserved starting grid (minimum times achieved in the 2024 or 2025 seasons: 1h24'40" for the men's half marathon and 1h35'30" for the women's half marathon), it is necessary to indicate the athlete's Personal Best at the time of registration. Failure to provide the time will not guarantee automatic entry into the grid.

The payment receipt, along with the list of athletes for whom payment was made, must be sent by the team manager to the email marsalahalfmarathon@evodata.it, to avoid problems with payment attribution.
Registrations without a copy of the payment will be considered invalid.
Runcard holders must also send a copy of their card, proof of the payment transfer, and the Medical Certificate for Competitive Athletics to the same address.

Meeting - Pick-up Bibs - Chip - Welcome - Race Pack - Course
Bibs, chips, and gifts will be delivered collectively to a team manager.
The medal will be given to each athlete at the finish line.

SATURDAY, APRIL 26 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Monument to the Thousand located on Lungomare Mediterraneo, bibs and race packs will be distributed.

SUNDAY, APRIL 27, bibs and race packs will be available for pick-up from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Monument to the Thousand.

APPROVED COURSE:
In accordance with the RTI regulations issued by WA for the measurement of road races.
Flat course, Start: Via Lungomare Mediterraneo in front of the Monument to the Thousand, Via Lungomare Mediterraneo, Via Capitano Falco, Via Lungomare Salinella, intersection with SP 21, Lungomare Spagnola, turnaround at km 10.55 and return course, FINISH at Lungomare Mediterraneo in front of the Monument to the Thousand.

STARTING TIME:
The start is set for 08:45 AM.
Maximum race time: 2 hours and 45 minutes
At bib distribution, each competitor will receive a chip for timing. This must be worn throughout the race, failure to do so will result in disqualification.

TIMING AND RESULTS:
The results will be processed by EvoData s.r.l.;
All chips must be returned at the finish line. Failure to return the chip will result in a €20 charge, which will be requested later.

Awards:
At 11:30 AM, the awards ceremony will begin and the following will be awarded:

  • First female overall finisher

  • First male overall finisher

  • The top three athletes in all FIDAL categories (male and female).

Note: No monetary prizes will be awarded. If the prize is not collected during the ceremony, the organizing company will not be obligated to deliver it later.

COMPLAINTS:
Any complaints must be presented according to FIDAL regulations and the RTI rules.

IMPOSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES:
If the race is canceled or postponed to another date, or otherwise not held for reasons beyond the control of the organizers, including revocation of the authorization by the Public Authorities, the registrant will have no right to claim a refund of the registration fee or any other expenses incurred. Registration is considered acceptance of this clause, waiving any claims due to cancellation. However, if any such conditions arise, registered athletes will automatically transfer their registration to the 2026 edition.

DATA PROCESSING
According to Article 13 of Legislative Decree No. 196/03, participants are informed that the data provided in the registration form is required for registration, preparing the participants list, the results, the historical archive, to provide services stated in the rules, and to send informational material regarding the event or its partners.

RIGHT TO IMAGE
By registering for the event, the athlete expressly authorizes the organization to acquire the right, free of charge, to use both still and moving images of the athlete captured during the event for promotional and advertising materials worldwide, for the maximum period allowed by applicable laws and regulations.

ATHLETE RESPONSIBILITY
The athlete is responsible for the ownership and safekeeping of their race bib, which entitles them to access all services mentioned in this regulation. Additionally, the athlete is provided with a chip, which remains the property of the timing company. The chip must be returned according to the above instructions. Failure to return it will incur a €20 charge.

EXEMPTION FROM LIABILITY:
The organization, while striving to ensure the success of the event, disclaims any liability for damage to persons or property before, during, or after the race. The organization reserves the right to modify any clause of this regulation at any time for reasons of force majeure, which must be approved by FIDAL. By registering, participants automatically accept the regulation and conditions in force.

FINAL NOTES:
The organizing committee reserves the right to change the regulation at any time for reasons deemed necessary for better event organization, after communication and approval from FIDAL. For anything not covered by this regulation, the general rules for organizing events from FIDAL and the Grand Prix Sicilia rules for 2024 apply.
